M.A (Political Science and International Relations)

Introduction to the Course

This is one of a kind program, introduced last year in eastern India, that incorporates all the crucial aspects of Political Science and International Relations at the Post-graduate level to foster robust professional as well as personal growth of students. Therefore, the curriculum reflects a healthy amalgamation of a broad spectrum of topics – from theories and thinkers of Political Science and International Relations to the geopolitical analyses of world affairs along with the unique course on Foreign Language (French) to be studied in all the semesters. The program also lays additional emphasis on research techniques; internships and soft skills to ensure the development of research capacity of the young learners and carve a niche for themselves in the world of academics. Therefore, the program not only enables the civil service aspirants to crack the toughest of the tough challenges in competitive examinations but also chaperones the budding political thinkers to make a mark in academia.

Program Outcomes

PO 01: The program will prepare students to become critical and analytical thinkers who can develop effective and equitable solutions to global issues.

PO 02: Critically analyse the ideas, mechanisms and the dynamics that shape foreign policies, their outcomes and impacts on India and the world.

PO 03: Provide purposive programmatic solutions to undertake critical and impactful research.

PO 04: Research formulation for social issues: Research is the foundation of any social issue or social problem which helps the researcher to develop an in-depth understanding about the social issue.

PO 05: Become reflective practitioners in domestic as well as International affairs through careers in the Government, development organisations, social enterprises, think tanks, media and other agencies involved in public affairs.

Eligibility: Minimum 50% aggregate at UG level from any recognized university in India and Abroad.
